SMC of the Upstate, Education Kick-off event TOMORROW from 10- 11:30 a.m.

What does it look like behind the walls of the first mainstream Zero Energy Home in Greenville SC?
That’s a question Greenville HBA’s Sales & Marketing Council asked – and Addison Homes has the answer! So we are hosting a pre-drywall tour” on Tuesday, November 11, at 10am at our model home in Trailside (click  here  for directions).
Construction is currently under way, so this educational event is all about taking a look at the energy-efficient products and processes you won’t see again once the walls go up. Todd Usher, president of Addison Homes, will provide an overview of the house as a system; in addition, representatives from vendors including Dow Solar, Velux, Icynene, Prime Energy Group and Wood Insulating will be on hand to answer questions about their products.
Please join us as we take you “Behind the Walls of a Zero Energy Home.” Enjoy light refreshments and learn more about the efficiency equation that adds up to $0 annual utility bills so that you, in turn, can explain the value to your clients.
Learn More, Earn More, on Tuesday, November 11, at 10am.
*Under Construction: Be sure to wear practical/comfortable shoes

Swamp Rabbit Trail Needs Community Help to Seek Grant

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a biking and walking path built along a former railroad corridor with the support of the Greenville Hospital System. The trail runs from the north end to the south end of the county and may someday become a part of a larger trail network.

The trail is applying for a grant from the Pepsi Foundation to fund development of trail crossing safety devices.

Community support is needed to qualify for the $250,000 grant. Voting ends December 31. Currently the trail is in 76th place. You can help put the trail in first place. Take 10 seconds to vote, and vote every day.

Businesses and families from around the world are attracted to the Upstate and Greenville because of the quality of life and outdoor activities our community offer. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is an important component of our community’s quality of life.
