Greenville, South Carolina lies in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte along the I-85 corridor. An international city that is home to well-known manufacturers like BMW and Michelin, Greenville also boasts numerous arts, entertainment and historic attractions.
The city's Falls Park on the Reedy features the acclaimed Liberty Bridge, a 355 ft pedestrian walkway overlooking downtown's historic waterfall. History buffs also will enjoy Greenville's new Upcountry History Museum, Shoeless Joe Jackson Park, and the more than 500 historic sites located throughout South Carolina's Upstate region.
For those whose interests are in arts, Greenville's Peace Center for the Performing Arts plays host to some of Broadway's biggest hits and a variety of entertainers. Museums, private art galleries and live theater venues dot Greenville's downtown, and festivals held throughout the year spotlight the area's visual and performing artists.
Greenville also offers a variety of attractions and activities for the sports-minded. The city's new downtown baseball stadium, West End Field, is home to The Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. And the area's pristine lakes, forested trails and proximity to the famous Blue Ridge Mountains offer a backdrop of unmatched beauty for hikers, bikers, joggers and boaters.
